JMG is in search of a full-time Tax Department Manager. This individual must possess high-level tax knowledge for individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely-held corporations, estate, and gift work papers, tax returns and tax laws.  The position requires research, management and training skills, as well as a thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems.  Proficiency is required in Microsoft Office and the willingness to learn other business-related software, in which training will be provided.  Prior experience with CCH Axcess is preferred, but not required.  This duties of this role would include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Researching advanced tax issues and regular monitoring of tax legislation updates.
  • Communicating complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients
  • Completion and review of tax returns for high-net worth individuals including Form 1040, K1s, federal and state trusts, flow through entities (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLC’s) and C-Corps.
  • Managing, coaching and developing members of a tax team by reviewing work and providing assistance for their success

Any experience and advanced knowledge in the area of finance, financial planning and investments is an advantage. A successful Tax Department Manager  will need the skills to work effectively on a team in a leadership role, as well as independently.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a requirement.  This position reports directly to the Director of Tax.  This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a reputable wealth management firm on a long-term basis.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in a related field; CPA designation, Enrolled Agent and minimum of 5 years work experience in professional services or professional tax organization is required.

Compensation: Exempt position, bonuses and full benefits including health, dental and profit sharing.
